I’m a firm believer that outsourcing when managed in the right way, can lead to positive outcomes for everyone involved in the process ; the business outsourcing can benefit from reduced costs and improved efficiencies and their customers can benefit from service improvements or refinements. The supplier providing the outsourcing service can benefit through a deal that rewards them for excellent service delivery and those individuals on either side impacted by the sourcing change, can benefit from a host of new opportunities.
So why isn’t this a common outcome? why do 69% of outsourcing deals fail to meet their objectives? and why is outsourcing a dirty word in many organisations? quite simply, because when it’s handled by people who don’t have positive outcomes for all at the centre of their objectives and priorities they cannot possibly hope to achieve the correcy results.
My company champion a completely different approach to the sourcing process which delivers positive outcomes for all and this blog will reflect my thoughts on how this can be achieved, as well as providing some wider perspectives on the sourcing industry and life in general!
